• the Library contains translations of seventeen textual analogues to the events depicted in the Tapestry

• items in the Library range in date from 1042 - 1170, in order to show both possible sources of the Tapestry's account, alternatives to this account, and the possible influence of the Tapestry on later accounts

• each Library item has a brief introduction, a bibliography and annotations

• each Library text has been re-edited with a set of linked footnotes that explain obscure references and tie passages to particular sections of the Tapestry

• texts with multiple or interpolated versions, such as the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle or the account of William of Jumièges are color coded to distinguish alternate variants
