items in the Library range in date from 1042 - 1170, in order to show both possible sources of the Tapestry's account, alternatives to this account, and the possible influence of the Tapestry on later accounts

each Library text has been re-edited with a set of linked footnotes that explain obscure references and tie passages to particular sections of the Tapestry
texts with multiple or interpolated versions, such as the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle or the account of William of Jumièges are color coded to distinguish alternate variants

All texts are given in recent and authoritative translations by permission of the original publishers (for example, the translations by Frank Barlow for Oxford University Press).
